03-11-2018· The sealed box has a divider in the middle so each sub sees it own chamber. The ported box has two 21" long x 4" diameter ports to allow for two tuning frequencies by plugging one of the ports. When running the dual sealed box I wired the subs in parallel for a 1 ohm load. The single ported was ran at 2ohms.

18-07-2010· Ok, so after burning the coils on my first sub (Alpine Type-R 1242), I'm wondering whether a sealed box is best, or a ported. My ported was 2.59 cubic feet, but after incorporating the size of the wood, it's 1.94 cubic feet.

14-05-2013· Could some kind soul provide me with the optimum dimensions for this subwoofer to work in a sealed box. This will be used mostly for music, but for some home theatre too. Thanks in advance. TD
28-12-2011· Thats what a ported box will do for you. Tune it to 30-33hz and use bracing for rigidity and it will be louder and sound better than any sealed box you could put them in. Sealed boxes choke 40-60% of output compared to a ported box. Sealed boxes are like running a restrictor plate on your subs. You will have to have a ported box made for you.

13-08-2003· Posted on Thursday, January 15, 2004 - 19:08 GMT. for the 12" subs, go with about 1.5cu ft per sub for sealed, and 2cu ft per sub if ported. ported, tune the ports to about 35Hz, using 4" inner diameter ports. (tuning the ports is done by adjusting their length. I can supply proper lengths once the box …

Ported if built right has a lot more bass, so it depends what you are looking for, the type of music you listen to and stuff like that.
06-09-2011· Just like the title says, im not a big fan of Rock music but have a guy who im building a box for. He wants a ported box, but not quite sure if this would be ideal for rock music. But would definitely like to get some pointers as to what would be a good fit for him. Heres a run down of the equipm...

07-10-2013· A sealed box is also easy to design and build, but it is important to remember not to make it too small as this can reduce the speaker's output. Vented Subwoofer Box The best performance from your Audiobahn subwoofer will be gained when it is mounted in this type of box, also known as a ported or bass-reflex system.
16-09-2006· Ok I wasn't sure on how a sealed box Vs a ported box effects the sounds quality. In my GTP I had a sealed box which seemed to have tight bass but less of it, now in my cts I have a ported box and it seem to not be as tight and crisp but much more bass, is this the difference, are some speakers designed for ported vs non ported.
Ported / Vented - Ported/Vented Enclosures provide an even boomier, louder bass, but less accurate then a small, sealed box. Ported enclosures typically require more airspace per sub and also less power output from an amplifier to perform correctly. Bandpass - Bandpass enclosures make subwoofers perform efficiently, but loose.

09-10-2006· The box volume it reccomends is like 137L and the tuning frequency is 20.64hz with a 4.7" port that is about 20" long. Should I change the parameters around and use a 6" port with a longer length? Im new to vented designs. I also am confused about how people secure their port inside the box in the first place. Heres the Sealed vs Vented plot.

27-12-2003· A ported box wont respond as fast or accurate as a sealed box. Sealed box's will produce a more clean/crisp sound. Sealed enclousers allow the sub to hit tighter, and be able to reproduce the sounds more accuratly. You definetly cant say the subs are going to be louder just because their in a sealed or ported box. Try each one out.
